The landing aid device (4) has a sensor unit with sensors (5,6) for detecting the relative position between a landing platform (2) and a helicopter (3). The landing aid device has an evaluation unit (8) connected with the sensor unit. The evaluation unit is arranged for detecting landing aid information depending on the relative position detected with the sensors. The sensors are arranged for detecting the relative velocity of the landing platform against the helicopter.
