Cigarette filter for use in paper case of cigarette for filtering e.g. tar containing gases, has grooves brought into body such that free space is formed, where longitudinal extension of space is larger than extension of openings
The filter (1) has a single-piece filter element (3) comprising micro openings and a cylindrical support area that is attached to an inner surface of a paper case (5). The filter element is formed as a cylindrical body, and circulating annular grooves are formed at two front sides of the filter element. The grooves are deeply brought into the cylindrical body such that a free space is formed at two sides of the micro openings, where a longitudinal extension of the free space is larger than a longitudinal extension of the openings. The filter element is made of plastic or ceramics. The filter is designed as an auxiliary filter, and the micro openings are formed as slots.
