The device (105) has a container (110) for receiving a timepiece (150) for a set of reliability tests. The container contains testing solution comprising elements such as ceramic media and steel medium. The container has an opening (112), and is positioned in different reliability testing modules. A carrier element (120) accommodates the timepiece, and is fixed to the container so as to hermetically close the opening of the container. The carrier element has a cover (122) for closing the opening of the container and a rod (124) on which the timepiece is fixed. An independent claim is also included for a method for testing predefined characteristics of timepiece.
