FIELD: transport.;SUBSTANCE: invention relates to railway transport and can be used to prevent rolling stock car derailing. Proposed method comprises tracing starting pulse of vertical and lateral oscillation acceleration in car bogie upmost oscillation excitation zones and power of acoustic emission from contact zone of RH and LH wheels with rails. Peak acceleration strains are estimated and compared with "background" strains. Besides, acoustic emission power is also estimated and compared with "background" acoustic emission power. Comparison results produce logical "0" or "1" that, when combined, allow identifying rolling stock state: "standard", "critical" or "derailing". Proposed device comprises unit to register vertical and lateral oscillation acceleration and acoustic emission metre, analysers, transmitter and receiver. Aforesaid unit comprises vertical and lateral oscillation acceleration transducer, amplifiers, peak detectors, comparators and "background" signal pickups. Metre comprises appropriate transducers arranged on RH and LG axle boxes, ADC, generator, comparator, back ground signal pickups, unit to sum signal from comparators zero channel.;EFFECT: identification of critical state, revealing train derailing.;2 cl, 1 dwg
