FIELD: medicine.;SUBSTANCE: there are offered synthetic oligonucleotide primers complementary to highly conserved region of genome NS2 of African horse sickness (AHS) virus having the following nucleotide structure: 5'-ggt cca etc ttg gtt atg gaa ctt tac agc-metricconverterProductID3'3' and 5'-ggt ctg cag tea ctt tgt aag gtg tct taa agt-metricconverterProductID3'3'. There is also disclosed method for detecting the AHS virus with using such primers, and a test system therefor. The method implies amplification ensured by polymerase chain reaction (PCR). In turn, the PCR is enabled when using highly conserved region of the AHS genome of NS2 area. The results of reaction are estimated without preliminary restriction of the prepared product. The result of reaction is considered to be positive if the PCR product matches the fragment size in 230 base pairs.;EFFECT: method and test system can be used in veterinary virology for detecting the AHS virus.;3 cl, 1 tbl, 5 ex
