FIELD: lifting-and-conveying equipment.;SUBSTANCE: cross beam consists of cross beam suspension to crane hook, cross beam load-carrying girder, cross beam balancing mechanism including load setting unit and paired units of load vector compensation. Load setting unit comprises counterweight mounted on rotary lever mechanism representing an unequal-arm lever jointed to cross beam load carrying girder. Aforesaid unit incorporates a lock to fix lever element in equilibrium position to allow cross beam to work as a standard load-handling equipment. Turnbuckles of paired units of compensating load vector serve to vary the distance between the point, which tensions suspension slings and creates smaller arm force equalising rotary lever mechanism of load setting unit. Equilibrium can be controlled visually or automatically using appropriate instrumentation.;EFFECT: safety in coupling-uncoupling jobs.;8 cl, 7 dwg
