PURPOSE: A target tracing controlling device of an intelligent mobile robot using a radio signal strength of zigbee and a controlling method thereof are provided to increase control accuracy by compensating noise in wireless telecommunication using a camera. CONSTITUTION: A target tracing controlling device of an intelligent mobile robot(20) is as follows. The damping ratio data of Zigbee signal strength according to the distance of the movement target is inputted. The Zigbee signal strength is measured at in the initial position of a target to set up an entry value. The Zigbee signal intensity transmitted in the Zigbee sensor is set up as the entry value to calculate an attenuation ratio. The Zigbee signal intensity is sensed with a camera(25) to calculate the location and distance. The mobile robot is carried by inputting movement direction and moving speed according to the calculated location and distance of the target.
