摘要

PURPOSE: An upside wide viewing twist nematic liquid crystal display is provided to reduce the total amount of leaked light under a dark state at a main viewing angle using an extended type retardation film, thereby having a high front CR(Contrast Ratio).;CONSTITUTION: In a TN(Twisted Nematic) mode liquid crystal display device, a lower polarizing plate(10), a liquid crystal cell(30) and an upper polarizing plate(20) are successively laminated from a backlight unit(40). TAC(Tri-Acetatecellulose Film)s(13,23) are opposite to a liquid crystal cell of polarizers(11,21). Retardation films(14,24) are located in a liquid crystal cell side. The retardation films are laminated on the upper polarizing plate and the lower polarizing plate. The front retardation value of the phase difference film is 130-170nm. The refractive index of the retardation film is larger than or the same as 1.5 or smaller than or the same as 2.3.;COPYRIGHT KIPO 2010
