PURPOSE: An apparatus and a method for extending operational lifetime are provided to extend the lifetime of coordinators participating in the mobile network. CONSTITUTION: A receiver(700) receives a message data based on a beacon frame of a parent coordinator from the parent coordinator and converts an active zone of a receiving super frame into an inactive interval. If data is received from a child coordinator, a transmission unit(740) initializes a maximum receiving standby time and maintains the active zone of a transmitting super frame. If data receiving standby time exceeds the maximum receiving standby time, the transmission unit converts the active zone of the transmission super frame into the inactive interval.
