PURPOSE: A smart key recognizing apparatus and a method in a PKE(Passive Keyless Entry) system are provided so that the passive entry and passive start are proceed without an additional LF(Low Frequency) antenna to B pillar antenna of two.;CONSTITUTION: A smart key recognizing apparatus in a PKE system comprises first and second LF antennas(10, 20), a controller(30), and a smart key. The authentication signal of the smart key is detected in the first, and the overlay region of 2 sensitive areas. Because the smart key was located in the indoor of the vehicles, it decides and controller is proceed the passive start. The authentication signal of the smart key is detected in domain except the overlay region. Because the smart key was located in the outdoor of the vehicles, it decides and it rotates as the passive entry and controller is proceed the lock operation. The signal intensity transmitted from the first or the second LF antenna gradually diminishes for the set up time as increase.
