PURPOSE: A bus protection IED(Intelligent Electronic Device) testing method is provided to standardize and automate an IED performance test method by developing a test procedure document using a UML(Unified Modeling Language). CONSTITUTION: The use case of the test item and an actor are selected(S1). The use case, the actor and a relation between the procedure of substation are written by using the use case diagram(S2). The use case function implementation specification and use case specification are written(S3). The diagram of UML is written(S4). The IED performance test procedures specification is written to the program language format through the diagram and the specification(S5).
