METHOD OF ASSAYING PHYSIOLOGICALLY ACTIVE SUBSTANCE OF BIOLOGICAL ORIGIN, KIT FOR ASSAYING PHYSIOLOGICALLY ACTIVE SUBSTANCE OF BIOLOGICAL ORIGIN AND APPARATUS FOR ASSAYING PHYSIOLOGICALLY ACTIVE SUBSTANCE OF BIOLOGICAL ORIGIN
Provided is a technique whereby a physiologically active substanceof biological origin such as an endotoxin or .beta.-D-glucan can be moreconveniently and accurately detected and the concentration thereofcan be determined even in the case of using a sample which containsa substance affecting LAL activity. For example, a sample is broughtinto contact with a substance (2) capable of adsorbing an endotoxinand thus the endotoxin contained in the sample is preliminarilyadsorbed. Next, the sample per se is washed away and the adsorbedendotoxin (4) is reacted with LAL. Then the gelation of LAL or theformation of gel particles (5) is detected to thereby detectingthe endotoxin and determining the concentration thereof.
