The invention relates to a spur gear having a circular sector-shaped tooth system and to a milling machine for making such a tooth system. According to the invention, the gear has some anti-homologous flanks (a and b) of a tooth (c) of a circular sector-shaped tooth system, having some different radii which are equal to some corresponding teeth arrangement radii of a working milling head (9). The claimed machine has a milling head (9) having some front teeth which are equiangularly arranged along a circle, said milling head being driven by a main shaft (8) and the teeth being generated kinematically, with discrete indexing, using the principle of rolling a piece to be processed (46) over a fixed rack, with this purpose the piece (46) being simultaneously driven into a rotation motion by means of a kinematic linkage of circular advance of the piece (46), the motion being transmitted thereby from an electric motor (11) to a gearing comprising a worm (42) and a worm wheel (43), said gearing driving a shaft (44) integral with a plate (45) on which the piece (46) is fixed, either directly or by means of another piece (47), as well as into a forward motion by means of a kinematic linkage of longitudinal advance, by which the motion is transmitted from the same electric motor (11) to a leading screw (66), the rotation thereof resulting into the forward motion of a nut (67) and of a longitudinal slide (52) which rotatably supports the plate (45), the two kinematic linkages having a rigid kinematic link, whose transmission ratio can be adjusted by some change gears (27, 28, 29 and 30), the final parts of said kinematic linkages forming a rolling linkage.
