The invention relates to a process and a plant for obtaining a fuel. According to the invention, the process consists in separating a fluid mixture containing paraffin hydrocarbons from the existing fuel gases, liquefying and storing the same while discharging the water. The claimed plant comprises a branched suction device (1) for the suction of the fluid mixture, a suction pipe (2) placed on the sea bottom or at the ground level, a centrifugal pump (3) having several stages, depending on the type of mixture, a delivery pipe (4) meant to increase the water flow to a hydraulic turbine (5) which drives an electric generator (6) for the supply of the plant services and the change of physical parameters of the fluid mixture, a conditioning basin (7) for the separation of fuel gases through a crank discharge pipe (8) which also provides the hydraulic turbine water flow, a spill pipe (9) for the separation of purified water discharged through a pipe (10) from the separated gases led through a pipe (11) into a buffer storage tank (12) wherefrom gases are led through a pipe (13) to a liquefaction zone (14) and, further on, through the pipe (15), to some storage tanks (16).
