An irrigation monitor for use with a K-Line type irrigator or for incorporation into a new K-Line type irrigator is disclosed. The irrigation monitor includes a pressure sensor, a transmitter, a receiver means and a mechanical or electronic control system. In use the pressure sensor is associated with the K-Line type irrigator to sense pressure. The pressure information is interrogated by the control system via the transmitter and receiver to establish if there is pressure or not to thereby decide whether a pump should or should not be supplying water or effluent to the irrigator.
