The present invention relates to method to increase organ size and /or number of a plant or plant part compared to the wild-type plant or plant part, which method comprises introducing in a plant or plant part, a genetic construct comprising: a. a cdc27a nucleic acid sequence encoding a CDC27A protein; b. one or more control sequence capable of increasing expression of the nucleic acid sequence of a. in a plant; and optionally c. a transcription termination sequence, wherein said organ is one or more of: leaves, stems, flowers, seed pods, seeds, and wherein said introduction results in increased organ size and/or number of a plant or plant part.
