PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a cooling method for high temperature shot capable of cooling it simply without using water, a cooling mechanism for high temperature shot of simple structure, and a shot blast device. PSOLUTION: The high temperature shot shot-blast of high temperature metal coarse material is introduced onto a porous plate 4 installed in a casing 3 with a slight inclination, and air is circulated from under the porous plate 4 upward to let the shot flow laterally to be cooled in this cooling method for high temperature shot. The cooling mechanism for high temperature shot comprises the casing 3 provided with an inflow port 3b and a discharge port 3c for shot, the porous plate 4 disposed between the inflow port 3b and the discharge port 3c with inclination, and a blower 1 to supply air under the porous plate 4.
