PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a brazing filler metal for joining of copper which has good adhesiveness and ceramics or carbon-based copper compound material at a low cost and a joining method.;SOLUTION: The (Cu-Mg)+Ti-based brazing filler metal 14 is prepared by kneading a Cu-Mg alloy powder 15 and Ti powder particles 16 with a binder 17 of a resin to a paste form. The Mg included in the brazing filler metal can lower the melting point of the brazing filler metal, permits brazing at a lower temperature and can lower the heating temperature and therefore the running cost for manufacturing a joined body can be reduced by using the brazing filler metal. The brazing filler metal is a ternary element of Cu, Mg, and Ti and avoids the use of costly Ag and is therefore low in cost.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
