PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a metal nanoparticulate composite which has selective and highly sensitive recognizability of ions and is applicable to sensing; to provide a method for producing the same; to provide a metal nanoparticulate composite aggregate; and to provide a method for producing the same.;SOLUTION: In the metal nanoparticulate composite 10, crown ether molecules 12, 12... are used to chemically modify the surface of each metal nanoparticulate. In the metal nanoparticulate composite 10, each metal nanoparticulate 11 is preferably a metal nanorod (gold nanorod 11) having an aspect ratio of 1.
