摘要

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain the subject new compound having woody aroma, accompanied with natural leather type connotation, making a human remind a smell of fresh suede leather and useful in a flavor field. ;SOLUTION: This invention contains a compound of formula I (acetyl substituting group exists at either 2nd site or 3rd site of a ring) or a mixture of the compound, e.g. 1-(1,2,3,4,5,6,7,8-octahydro-7,8,8-trimethyl2-naphthalenyl)-1- ethanone. The compound of formula I is obtained by subjecting a compound of formula II to Diels-Alder reaction in the presence of methyl vinyl ketone, subsequently dehydrating and subjecting to cyclization reaction. The compound of formula II is also a new compound and obtained by starting from epoxymyrcene and subjecting to Grignard reaction. A smell characteristic is applied, improved, enriched and modified by adding the compound of formula I to the flavor composition as a flavor increasing component.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2000,JPO
