PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a model animal exhibiting a short or long period circadian rhythm.;SOLUTION: The invention provides a non-human transgenic animal having extraneous PER2 gene. The transgenic animal exhibits a short or long-period circadian rhythm. Especially, a transgenic animal having a PER2 gene deleted in a nuclear transport sequence exhibits a long-period circadian rhythm.
