PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a steel/concrete structure which has excellent durability and practically and inexpensively prevents the corrosion of the reinforcing steel over a long period without relating to the kinds of the steel/concrete structure, such as its size, and further without causing the hydrogen deterioration of the reinforcing steel, and is difficult to cause damages such as cracks due to the corrosion of the reinforcing steel over a long period, to provide a material for adding to concrete in order to obtain such the steel/concrete structure, and to provide a cement. ;SOLUTION: This material for adding to concrete comprises the pieces of a metal which has a natural electric potential of ≥-0.80 V based on a saturated calomel electrode in a 3% aqueous NaCl solution opened in the atmosphere at 30°C and has a corrosion rate of 0.001 to 1.0 mm/y in the 3% aqueous NaCl solution. The cement contains the metal pieces in an amount of 0.1 to 50 vol.%. The steel/concrete structure is obtained by dispersing the metal pieces in a concrete or mortar layer.;COPYRIGHT: (C)2000,JPO
