PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To detect a web based text, without having to install application-specific recognition/communication software in advance. PSOLUTION: A web based image detection system includes an image-capturing device, a web browser, a plug-in, and a recognition server. The captured image is processed by the plug-in, and it is ascertained if the predetermined contents type is included in the image. When the predetermined contents type is detected in the image by the initial analysis by the browser plug-in, the image is transmitted to the recognition server and the contents type image is contents-recognized.
