PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To model a moving image color appearance.;SOLUTION: An input accepts a video signal and a white generator creates an unfiltered white signal from the video signal. A cone response generator is coupled to the input and generates a set of cone responses from the video signal. A spatial center filter generates a spatial center of one of the set of cone responses. A spatial surround filter generates a spatial surround of the one of the set of cone responses.
