PPROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To display Pareto optimal solutions on the basis of objective functions, and to present how to change the restriction of parameters in order to achieve much more satisfactory solutions when the obtained solutions are not satisfactory. PSOLUTION: A multi-objective optimization design improvement support device calculates a logical expression indicating a logical relationship among arbitrary two or three objective functions of a plurality of mathematically approximated objective functions (101-104) and displays a possibility area in arbitrary objective space according to it (105). When a designer is not satisfied with the Pareto optimal solution, it maps a sample point group out of the initial constraints of a design parameter set in the objective space, an objective function display section 105 displays its result and presents an improvement solution to the designer (107). When the designer finds more optimal solution than the Pareto optimal solution among the displayed improvement solutions and gives instruction, it calculates a sample point in design parameter space (108), corresponding to the optimal improvement solution, overlaps it with a constraint range and displays it as improvement knowledge information (109).
