PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technology for calculating a sum a+b of binary numbers a, b with a linear size and linear depth by using only a neighborhood quantum bit arithmetic operation without using any auxiliary quantum bit.;SOLUTION: Each digit of a binary number b is associated with the initial state of quantum bits Q2i+1(i=0, through n-1) in the order of small one, and each digit of a binary number a is associated with the initial state of quantum bits Q2i+2(i=0 through n-1) in the order of small one. A quantum arithmetic operation performs a quantum operation to the quantum bits Q1 through Q2n+1.
