Pivoting wheel device for use on frame of medical bed in e.g. hospital building, has indexing unit configured such that wheel is displaced from indexing position to operational position by axial translation, when force is applied on wheel
The device (1) has a fixed element i.e. fixation barrel (3), defining a vertical axis (AA) and including a motorized guiding unit that guides a movable element i.e. cylindrical support shaft (4), in axial translation and rotation around the axis. The barrel has a pivoting wheel (2) rotating around an axis perpendicular to the axis (AA). A cam indexing unit brings the barrel in an indexed position, and is configured such that the wheel is displaced from an indexing position to an operational position by rotationless axial translation, when an ascending vertical force is applied on the wheel.
