The support has a base plate for mounting the support and a base (12) for receiving an electrical apparatus i.e. global positioning system navigator (N), mounted on the base plate. The base plate has a fixation unit for fixing the support on a fascia of a motor vehicle. The base plate and the base are formed of two distinct pieces and are realized from an injected plastic material. The base includes a locking unit for cooperating with a detent unit provided on the base plate. The base has a body provided with a fixation head and a foot at its ends, respectively. An independent claim is also included for a method for mounting a support on an equipment of a vehicle integrated to a passenger compartment.
