The method involves removing an exhaust gas partial flow from an exhaust gas flow of an Otto engine (12) in a flow direction of the exhaust gas flow behind a turbine (36) of an exhaust gas turbocharger (24) and an exhaust gas catalytic converter (54). A charge air flow is supplied to a combustion chamber of the Otto engine in a flow direction of the charge air flow before a compressor (22) of the turbocharger. The exhaust gas partial flow is separated into two partial flows, which are adjusted depending upon a charge air temperature. An independent claim is also included for an internal combustion engine arrangement.
