Flame retardant with cationic dye of colorable copolyester polymer, comprises: 0.5-3 mol% of a metal sulfonate compound (I), in relative to the total carboxyl group of the polymer; and 500-50000 ppm of a flame protecting agent based on phosphorous compound (II), in relative to the total weight of phosphorous atom of the polymer. Flame retardant with cationic dye of colorable copolyester polymer, comprises: 0.5-3 mol% of a metal sulfonate compound of formula (I), in relative to the total carboxyl group of the polymer; and 500-50000 ppm of a flame protecting agent based on phosphorous compound of formula (R 1-O-P((=O)-R 2)-CH 2-CH 2-C(=O)-O-R 3) (II), in relative to the total weight of phosphorous atom of the polymer. M : an alkali metal; and R 1-R 3H, phenyl or 1-7C-alkyl. An independent claim is included for preparing the flame retardant by a three-tube-terephthalic acid polymerization procedure. [Image].
