Multiple speed transmission i.e. nine speed transmission, has six torque transmitting mechanisms selectively engageable to establish nine forward speed ratios and reverse speed ratio between input member and output member
The transmission has an interconnecting member (44) continuously interconnecting a sun gear member (14A) of a planetary gear set (14) with a planet gear carrier member (14B) of the planetary gear set. Six torque transmitting mechanisms (26-36) e.g. clutch, interconnect one of the members with the members and a stationary element (40) i.e. transmission housing, where the mechanisms are selectively engageable to establish nine forward speed ratios and a reverse speed ratio between an input member (12) and an output member (22).
