The milling machine guides (9, 10) hold the machining head (13) and the tool shuttle unit (23). These slide along the guides as they approach or leave the tool-carrying magazine (19). The machining head (13) has five axes of control (X, Y, Z, B, C). The carrier structure (6) supporting the guides (9, 10), slides parallel to the first axis (X). The second axis (Z) lies at right angles to the first (X). The third axis (Y) lies perpendicular to the other two. They (X, Y, Z) form a set of cartesian axes. The B and C axes are axes of rotation.
