Washing machine, particularly front loading horizontal axis washing machine, has machine housing, lye container mounted in oscillating manner in machine housing, and washing drum with front loading opening mounted in lye container
The washing machine has a machine housing (6), a lye container (1) mounted in oscillating manner in the machine housing, and a washing drum (4) with a front loading opening (2) mounted in the lye container in rotatable and overhung manner. The front loading opening has a porthole shaped door (13) with an inspection glass (12). The inspection glass carries an elastic curtain in the lower area (14) which covers a sixth part of the periphery of the loading opening. The curtain partly occupies a gap (R) between the inspection glass and the periphery of the loading opening.
