Is shown and described a device (1) for supporting and / or transfer of the pumping function of the heart (2), with a multilayer shroud member (3) designed to at least partly compression of the heart (2), wherein the shell part (3) at least one stabilizing layer (4) for shaping of the said sheath member (3) and at least one internal stretchable augmentation layer (5), and wherein between the stabilization layer (4) and of the augmentation of at least one layer (5) by means of a fluid inflatierbarer deflation animal and a cavity (6) for the cyclic compression of the heart (2) is formed. According to the invention, it is provided that the stabilization layer (4) by means of a fluid, at least in some regions, inflatierbar, in order to enable the shroud member (3) of a rolled-up and / or folded inserted condition during the insertion of the device in a body to be converted into a curved operating state, wherein the heart (2) in the operating state of the shroud member (3) at least partially encased and / or is gripped.
