The method comprises contactlessly applying a hot adhesive (5) on an area of a paper web (2) at 140-170[deg] C, cooling the adhesive at 90-120[deg] C by an air flow, and bringing the area of the web with the adhesive to a unit at a winding sleeve (1). The adhesive develops a high adhesive strength at high temperatures than at the low temperatures. The adhesive removes itself from the winding sleeve in a residue-free manner but has a minimum adhesive strength, is soluble in water, and is applied in the form of strips, which have a distance to each other in a width direction of the web. The method comprises contactlessly applying a hot adhesive (5) on an area of a paper web (2) at 140-170[deg] C, cooling the adhesive at 90-120[deg] C by an air flow, and bringing the area of the web with the adhesive to a unit at a winding sleeve (1). The adhesive develops a high adhesive strength at high temperatures than at the low temperatures.
