The device has a reactor (3) including an oxidation zone for oxidation of carbonaceous raw material and a reduction zone for reduction of an intermediate product of the oxidation. Air mass flow rate measuring sensor (1) and combustion gas mass flow rate measuring sensor (11) detect flow rate and/or size, from which the flow rate is derived, air mass, which is supplied to the reactor via air nozzles (4), and/or a gaseous fuel mass, which is extracted from the reactor. The produced combustion gas is supplied to an internal combustion engine. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a system for generating electrical energy and/or heat energy with a device for producing a combustible gas mixture from carbonaceous raw material (2) a method for optimizing the production of a combustible gas mixture from carbonaceous raw material.
