Human insulin quantity determining method for diabetic patient, involves computing insulin quantity supplied to body of patient by formula calculation specification, and representing insulin quantity in international units on output unit
The method involves determining a base factor value such as postprandial blood sugar value or body weight, of a diabetic patient, and determining an actual blood sugar value from a blood sample. An insulin quantity (IE) supplied to a body of the patient is computed from the relevant base factor value and the actual blood sugar value by a formula calculation specification, which approximates insulin need of the patient. The insulin quantity is represented in international units on an output unit. The base factor value is determined at regular intervals. An independent claim is also included for a device for executing a method for determining insulin quantity supplied to a body of an adult patient.
