The position detection system (1) has a three-dimensional input device (3) with position sensors. The position sensors are provided for detecting a position of the three-dimensional input device under a predetermined volume in a fixed three-dimensional magnetic field (2). An identified positional data is transferred from the position of the three-dimensional input device over an interface (4) by a central processing unit (5). A position sensor has an additional Radio-frequency identificationchip with a transponder.
