The machine (10) has a driven cutting knife defining a cutting plane, and a contact device (20) for goods to be cut. The contact device has a contact surface (22) whose distance to the cutting plane is adjustable. A catch device (34) discharges cut good slices after cutting in a direction transverse to the cutting plane, and is movable relative to the cutting plane. The catch device is positioned in a fixed distance to the contact surface of the contact device, and is movable in a direction parallel to a distance direction. An independent claim is also included for a method for adjusting thickness of cut goods slices with a food stuff cutting machine.
