Embodiments of the invention may provide systems and methods for applying a combustion dynamics tuning algorithm to a multi-combustor tube combustor. According to one embodiment of the invention, a method (200) for controlling a gas turbine (210) with a gas turbine model (230) may be applied to a gas turbine (210) having a plurality of combustor cans (102-112). The method (200) may include collecting frequency data (Y) associated with a plurality of combustor combustors of the gas turbine. The method (200) may further include determining the deviation between the operating frequency data (Y) of at least two combustor tubes. Furthermore, the method (200) may include determining a median value based at least in part on the deviation. The method (200) may further include determining if the median value exceeds at least one operating threshold. In addition, the method (200) may include applying at least one gas turbine control operation to change at least one of the operating frequencies (Y) when at least one operating threshold is exceeded.
