The combination has a tool with a cylinder shaft (52) comprising a bent clamping surface (53) and a supporting flange. A tool holder (20) has a chuck with a supporting surface (38) that is oriented to the supporting flange. The supporting flange has a center groove, and the tool holder has a center element that projects over the supporting surface and extends into the centering groove. The center element is embraced by groove flanks with small or no clearance.
