The method involves performing primary pressure force measurement, main force measurement, die path measurement, ejection force measurement and stripping force measurement for tablets to be produced. Measurement results are sent to a mainframe computer. An optimization of tablet powder amount/ structure, tablet granulate amount/structure, pressing forces and/or pressing paths takes place, until the individual measurements or computational relationships reach a predetermined set value range. Measured pressure forces are used as control and regulation parameters for large-scale production. An independent claim is also included for a laboratory tablet press comprising a main pressure roller.
