The device has an external camera arranged on a load hook and in front or back region of a helicopter cabin, where the camera is designed as tiltable and focusable. A display system is arranged in a cockpit of a helicopter, and connected with the camera. The tilting and focusing of the camera is controllable or regulatable by a controlling/regulating unit, which is arranged in the cockpit of the helicopter. The camera is connected with the display system and/or the controlling/regulating unit by a data cable.
