The method involves aligning a hollow cylindrical section with its longitudinal axis in a direction of a gravitational force. Circular border areas (14, 15) of the section are temporarily heated to temperature for liquefaction of a metallic material in the areas, using a laser beam in a protective atmosphere, to cause shaping of the section using surface tension of the liquefied material. The areas are heated with respect to the direction of the gravitational force. The liquefied circular border areas of the section are cooled.
