The table (1) and/or seat bench (2) has functional surfaces (3, 4) for sitting and/or storing articles, where the functional surface is partly covered by reinforcement elements (5, 5', 6, 6'). The elements are fitted from the outside on the functional surface. The element has a retainer (9, 9'), in which an end of the functional surface is retained, where the element is arranged on one of long sides (7, 7', 8, 8') of the surface. A hinged base (11, 11', 12, 12') is joined or rotatably supported in the element, where the element projects over the base.
