Gas sensor for determining e.g. temperature of exhaust gas, in internal combustion engine, has flange formed at protective pipe as single piece, where pipe is shrunk on housing with end section of pipe staying behind flange
The sensor has a housing (11) and a sensor element (12) that is mounted in the housing. The element includes an end section (121) protruding from the housing at a side of a measuring gas at measuring gas-sided end of the housing. A protective pipe (14) covers the end section, and is fixed at the housing end. A flange (21) includes a sealing surface for gas-tightly fixing the sensor in a connector (27) that enables inflow of the gas. The flange is formed at the pipe as a single piece, and the pipe is shrunk on the housing with an end section (143) of the pipe staying behind the flange.
