The cannula (1) has a punction tip (3), which is arranged and pre-stressed on a puncture cannula (2) that is movable in a venous cannula (4), where the punction tip is detachable from the puncture cannula. The punction tip is surrounded by the venous cannula in a longitudinal direction in a functional condition in such a manner that the venous cannula holds the punction tip by pre-stressing the punction tip on the puncture cannula. A retainer (19) is provided for the functional tip in the venous cannula. An independent claim is also included for a method for setting a central venous catheter with a cannula.
