Integrated control circuit i.e. hardware-controlled application-specific integrated circuit, for electronic ballast of e.g. low pressure-gas discharge lamp, has heating current detector detecting availability of heating circuit switch
The circuit (5) has an inverter control circuit (1) for controlling a lamp-operating module comprising a load circuit with a lamp, and half bridge switches (S1, S2) for producing voltage for operating the lamp. A switch controller (2) controls primary windings (T1-T3) and secondary windings (T2, T4), which are provided for a lamp-operating switch. A heating current detector determines parameters e.g. voltage, of the lamp-operating module, and detects availability of a heating circuit switch (S3) for connecting and disconnecting the windings. An independent claim is also included for a method for determining a topology of a special operating circuit controlled by a control circuit.
