Cable harness computer-aided designing and manufacturing method, involves electronically storing different data in memory in uniform data structure by computational device, and producing cable harness using data stored in memory
The method involves electronically storing data describing a spatial structure of a cable harness, and data describing electrical characteristics of the cable harness as well as data describing materials of the cable harness, in a memory in a uniform data structure by a computational device. The cable harness is produced using the data stored in the memory. Individual contacts (20-24) and individual wires are stored in one dimension, and the contacts are stored as fittings and the wires are stored as a line in another dimension. Independent claims are also included for the following: (1) a device for production-related designing of a cable harness (2) a computer program with program code medium for executing a method for computer-aided designing and manufacturing of a cable harness (3) a computer program product with program code medium for executing a method for computer-aided designing and manufacturing of a cable harness.
