PURPOSE: An apparatus and a method for monitoring air pollution are provided to grasp particles which are able to become cloud by measuring the condensation nuclei numerical concentration in case aerosol particles are saturated.;CONSTITUTION: An apparatus for monitoring air pollution comprises a first particle separator, a supersaturation controller, a relative humidity controller, an evaporation temperature controller, a detector, a second particle separator, and a particle counter. The first particle separator(120A) separates the aerosol particle(112) as a single size. The supersaturation controller(130) oversaturates the aerosol particle of the single size broken down through the first particle separator. The relative humidity controller(140) grows the aerosol particle with moisture-absorption by adjusting the humidity of the aerosol particle of the single size broken down through the first particle separator. The evaporation temperature controller(150) contracts the aerosol particle with volatilization by adjusting the temperature of the aerosol particle of the single size broken down through the first particle separator. The detector(160) measures the condensation numerical concentration of the supersaturated aerosol particle by being connected to the supersaturation controller. The second particle separator(120B) is connected to the relative humidity controller or the evaporation temperature controller. The second particle separator separates the aerosol particle grown or contracted as individual sizes. The particle counter(170) counts the aerosol particles separated by the second particle separator.;COPYRIGHT KIPO 2010
